The tool users need for their creations (mStudio) was made on a technology that needs improvement. With implementing the first product of the new Editor tool, we saw a 20% drop in conversion rate.
Role: Product designer | Date: November 2021
We believe that one of the reasons customers aren’t converting is that uploading images requires too many steps (more than mStudio. So if we decrease the number of steps, we should see customer conversions improve.
Being able to improve this journey and we will see conversion rate to match our rate from mStudio, mainly in products that require only one image (like canvas, puzzle, magnets)
The first part of the migration was done without any research involved whatsoever. So the first step was to do unmoderated research to discover the problems and pain points.
Landing on the cover and Uploading a photo was one of the main problems. Also, they didn't know what to do after uploading a picture. Some opened the 'photo editing', trying to find something. Users are expected to see their image implemented when the "image upload" screen closes.
The photo editing bottom bar opened for one user when uploading, and she thought the image needed to be edited to upload.
Other problems found were: The checkout icon and preview was complicated to find.
Wireframing
Designing
After doing research and wireframing some ideas we could test.
I led the design process in collaboration with the project manager and constant communication with the tech team.
We have different interactions to understand the technology and how much was possible to do.
